Bonjour!
Isabelle here,
The most important thing you need to know about me is that I love languages!
My first contact with the English language was as a 12-year-old schoolgirl in Paris.
Coming home after my first English lesson, I shared my thrill and excitement with my mum.
Now, being fluent in both, I’m eager to share that passion with you!
The beauty of language is that it allows us to connect on a deeper level with others and the world around us.
It is my belief that teaching has to be interactive, dynamic and fun: a team effort that can’t simply rely on the ‘old school’ notion of translating word for word.
Having a solid grasp of the language is a bonus whilst travelling.
By communicating with locals and immersing yourself in the culture, the real adventure begins!
Working and teaching at the Alliance Francaise in Sydney for 10 years was an incredible experience.
I met many interesting individuals from different walks of life, each learning French for various reasons.
Some wanted the practicality of speaking/understanding a second language, while others learnt for travel, the social aspect, or simply for the promise of a new and exciting challenge.
My children were born in Australia but I promised myself that I would do all I could so they became bilingual adults.
I am now very proud and grateful that they can both juggle between the 2 languages effortlessly.
When they travel to France to visit family, they can communicate fluently, enjoy the culture first hand, can understand the humor, watch movies and pick up all the little idiosyncrasies that are available to those who have mastered a language.
You can too. Come and join the adventure!
